I’m thrilled to say The Secret Diary of an Arranged Marriage won the Patron prize – which was voted for by the public, at The Page Turner Awards. The public award was the most important to me, as I value the opinion of my readers over critics. It’s also especially touching as I wrote the book in the throes of early motherhood, literally writing drafts on my phone whilst breastfeeding my daughter. It was published when I was 9months pregnant with my son. So it just goes to show, anyone who says mums can’t do great work is wrong. This one’s for the mamas.
